AEGIS DEFENDERS
ABOUT AEGIS DEFENDERS
HUMANITY HAS BEEN BROUGHT BACK INTO THE DARK AGES BUT REMNANTS OF A ONCE HIGHLY ADVANCED CIVILIZATION STILL EXIST. In this world where control over lost technologies equals power, two explorers from a small village have just discovered Aegis, the legendary weapon said to have brought on the calamity. Although its true purpose remains mysterious, one thing is certain - powerful people will stop at nothing to control it.
Aegis Defenders is a Miyazaki-inspired mashup of classic 16-bit platforming and strategic tower defense. Playing as 2 characters (Or with a friend!), the player must mix and match each character's abilities to solve puzzles, defeat unbeliviable foes and eventually take down the Empire. Responsibilities: Lead Producer In February of 2014, Bryce recruited me to work as the project's Lead Producer. As we were a small operation (3 "full time" employees and a whole lot of part-time helping hands), this meant not only taking on traditional production duties like project scheduling and task management, but also accounting, PR, community management and business development. After a couple of years working on the development end of the equation, I had really wanted to see the other side of making a game and to leverage my contacts to try and bring a project I really believed in to fruition. In August of 2014, we launched the Aegis Defenders Kickstarter, raising over $145,000. Aegis Defenders is currently planned to release in early 2017. In June of 2015 I left the team to pursue full-time employment with WEVR. The team went on to kick butt, score an amazing publishing deal with Humble Bundle and achieve a 3 platform launch on PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
