Jett: The Far Shore
Jett: The Far Shore is Superbrothers & Pine-Scented's follow up to the critically acclaimed Sword & Sworcery EP. Intended as a launch title for the PS5, the game concerns the trials & tribulations of a Jett scout Mei & her team. As the game remains unreleased, that's all I'll say for now!
I came into the project in early 2020, 7 years into the title's lifecycle. Originally a 2-person labor of love, the project had started staffing up in 2018 in order to prepare for release. I worked alongside Randy Smith in true many-hats fashion helping to wrangle the beautiful, complicated dream that is Jett.
In practice this meant working on everything that wasn't in-engine. This ranged from vetting new hires or support teams to running backlog prioritization with our various disciplines. I handled paperwork and on-boarding for contractors as well as the initial setup of the project metadata in the PSN & EGS release backends. I developed timelines for & with project marketing staff and created Agile, capacity-based task tracking frameworks for teams with limited resources. I also developed and maintained localization workflows for the game's 40k+ words and 5 languages and handled playtesting & QA vendor assignments and issue intakes.
All that with a team that sat on 4 continents across 8 countries and many, many timezones. This project was a dream and an honor for me. Jett attracted many of the best and brightest from across an era in games and to be able to support and assist their efforts was an opportunity I never thought I'd have.
